In fact, all the negative feelings around this one almost kept it off the list, but when it comes down to it Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was one of the greats, and a dang good title. Some people just aren't wired for old school gaming, apparently. Once again I say "screw you Angry Nintendo Nerd" with this one. Many gamers wanted a port of Konami's arcade beat-'em-up of the same name instead, but had to wait until 1991, when a port of the arcade classic came to the NES under the TMNT 2 moniker. Unfortunately, this game didn't satisfy everyone. It also had multiple fields-of-view, from top-down navigation to side-scrolling sequences, the perspectives were mixed up considerably at a time when games were usually from one outlook only. The great thing about TMNT was its ability to let gamers use all four Ninja Turtles at will, even though it was only a one-player action game. Developed by Konami and published by its subsidiary Ultra (a ghost publisher created only so that Konami could publish more games per year than Nintendo allowed), TMNT proved to be a fun, challenging game with crisp graphics and compelling gameplay. Naturally, it was only a matter of time before a videogame followed the television show and toys. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was a smash phenomenon in the late 1980s. The day this one was conquered was when I finally found Game Genie codes, booted up two players and made sure either my brother or I stayed alive to keep the progress on our assault. Two guys with a knife and a suicide complex decide to invade Russia. This is the original co-op Splinter Cell (minus the stealth part). Your standard melee attack was a stabbing knife, with distance-attacking firearms available later on, but no matter what your armament, you had to be precise with your placement or cheap death was inevitable. Instead, it was a lot easier to take your time and advance through each level slowly, as waves of soldiers spawned from all direction to charge you and kill you dead. Rush 'n Attack is a side-scrolling beat-'em-up/shooter that didn't reward new players for attempting its titular strategy. You've got to remember the historical time period that the NES was released – it was an age when the Cold War was still a very prominent problem in many American's minds, and game companies certainly didn't shy away from the free advertising that the fear-inspiring nightly news and morning papers were instilling in the purchasing public. It doesn't take a master of Mad Gab to discern the phonetically equivalent true title Konami was going for with this one, especially after you realize that the setting is a Soviet stronghold and all of the enemies are Communists. Do you need anything else? It's no Blades of Steel (hell EA's NHL09 isn't Blades of Steel), but growing up in Minnesota and playing on a hockey team ensured that this one was in the NES as much as Super Mario 3. I think I've got the same fond memory for this one as everyone else does: skinny dude, medium dude, and fat dude. The only game that ended up rivaling this excellent design was Konami's Blades of Steel, but the two were different enough to own and enjoy both (which is why you'll find Blades on this countdown). Every Ice Hockey player discovered their own perfect combination of men, and then it was on to the ice. You could choose from three different player body types, and outfit your team with any combination of them fast but weak Skinny Guys, brawny but slow Fat Guys, or well-balanced, middle-ground Normal Guys. This game of skating and slap shots was perfectly balanced, simple fun with just the right touch of planning and strategy to keep things interesting match after match. None of those games ended up having the lasting appeal and addictiveness of one of its other contemporaries, though – the first-party Nintendo sports sim known simply as Ice Hockey. Nintendo had a fairly diverse lineup of sports titles introduced for the NES early on in the system's life cycle, including 8-bit interpretations of soccer, tennis, volleyball and even downhill slalom skiing. On defense, Toxic Screen can be used creatively to obscure multiple lanes. Despite the size of the map, each site is relatively enclosed, featuring small plant sites. Viper is traditionally an agent that thrives on large, open maps, such as Breeze, since her Toxic Screen wall can block off multiple sightlines at once. While Astra can move around the map unfettered, Brimstone will have to position himself according to where his smokes are needed. On top of that, the limited range of his Sky Smokes puts him at a massive disadvantage compared to an agent like Astra. He can smoke off A Main multiple times, or simply teleport behind A Rubble to exert pressure on defenders. Omen’s biggest strength is his rechargeable Dark Cover smokes. On defense, she can take advantage of the multiple narrow choke points leading into B site, slowing down fast pushes with a cleverly placed Gravity Well or Nova Pulse. A Main provides a very oppressive sightline for snipers, and blocking that off can help your team take crucial space. With three sites, her ability to deploy smokes globally should come in very handy, especially for teams relying heavily on default plays.įor instance, she can play at C Mound on attack, while still helping her team take vital A Main control with a Nebula smoke. Ii wouldn't be surprised people did the same to amazon cloud and this is the kind of behavior that caused Amazon to remove unlimited to everyone and now the API probably come from similar reasons. I've seen someone braging about using over a PB of their free storage ( or was it on a unlimited google account ? ) and was looking to upload even more stuff. Especially when Amazon drive was unlimited for 60$/yr and was working with an API it probably got abused quite badly. I was pretty vocal about it to the customer service department for the retraction of the API support.īut I fear Amazon HAD to do tight quite a lot the screw to prevent people of using 100's of TB or more of useless junk. I do feel your anger toward Amazon and I do share it. That solution would work with good backup solution software like GoodSync. Only thing that piss me a little bit from that idea are the download fees of 0.01$/gb. The latest arranged their pricing a way it come about the same price as Amazon drive is 61$/yr/TB ( it is 0.005$/mth/gb ). I'm really thinking about moving my offsite backup from Amazon to BackBlazeB2. You can only download 2GB at a time, so you have to figure out where the last file was you left off at. THEY impose the restriction.Įdit: I forgot to mention that they also have a 2GB restriction on Drive. It is 100%technologically feasible to download all with one click. I assume they want to make it very difficult to download photos because they don't want people leaving their ecosystem. You would think they would have an amazing app with all the money they have-NOPE! They've made it worse. I have too many photos to organize them all into albums at this point. Using shift to select all leaves many photos within the selection unselected, which is ridiculous. The others are outside of folders and you can't select all. The problem is that only photos that are in albums are in folders. You can only access Drive via a crappy web interface. They got rid of their Drive desktop app and replaced it with the Amazon Photos app. Just make sure to tag the post with the flair and give a little background info/context. What makes this specific card so much more valuable than other Rainbow Rares printed around the same time? Now we come to the most coveted Rainbow Rare of all – the Charizard GX from 2017‘s Burning Shadows set. With pull rates that low and supply that limited, it‘s easy to see why values skyrocket. Here‘s a breakdown of just how rare they are:Īnd remember, Rainbow Rares are limited to only 1 to 8 different cards per set. That makes Rainbow Rares around 6 times rarer than even your standard holo rare Charizard! To put that in perspective, you have about a 1 in 100 chance to pull any holographic rare card. Unlike most cards, the illustration extends fully over the textbox for amazing artwork.īut here‘s the key factor – Rainbow Rares are ridiculously hard to pull from packs! On average, you‘ll only get 1 Rainbow Rare in every 600 booster packs. Starting in the Sun & Moon series, the Pokémon Company introduced this new "secret" rare variant with a stunning multicolor shimmering pattern. Now let‘s talk about what makes Rainbow Rare cards so special. Rainbow Rares Are The Rarest Modern Card Variant Collectors and investors are willing to pay huge premiums for rare Charizard cards, even if they aren‘t the strongest in competitive play. So it‘s no surprise that Charizard consistently has the most valuable cards out of any Pokémon. Out of over 800 Pokemon now, the vintage originals like Charizard remain the most iconic and beloved. Who didn‘t pick Charmander as their first partner? And that sweet feeling when it finally evolved into the mighty fire-breathing dragon Charizard! As one of the original starter Pokémon from the Red/Blue video games, Charizard holds a special place in the hearts of 90s kids like us who grew up with Pokemon. Charizard‘s Popularity Makes it Pokemon‘s Most Valuable Cardįirst, we have to talk about the immense popularity of Charizard itself. Rainbow Rare Charizard GX cards have dominated the Pokémon TCG market in recent years, with some copies selling for an unbelievable $700,000! As your resident trading card expert, let me walk you through exactly why this blinged-out Charizard commands such astronomical prices compared to other cards. More than two conductors: 40% of the conduit space,īut haven't been able to find the above in any official NEC docs (I'm sure the above quote does originate from such). I've found tables that refer to max wires of equal size, and a few statements of the % conduit fill the distance: #3 AWG will work for my distance (I believe #4 AWG would work for So, I'm limited to that conduit (it's buried deep under my back patio).įrom what I've read (and the calculators I've used), my understanding is, given my distance:(3) #3 AWG (THHN) conductors and (1) #8 AWG (THHN) ground (this can be bare?)would:- be sufficient for the 100 amp sub-panel at that distance.- equal: 38.2% conduit fill (> 2 conductors = 40% max conduit fill) simply use the same main batt wire to complete the circuit.I'm building a garage/ADU conversion and would like to have a 100 amp sub-panel.I already have a 1" PVC SCH 40 buried and running out to the unit (about 125-150' from the main panel to where the sub-panel will be) (was done years ago in anticipation of running a new panel to my garage). No need to run a diff wire between alt and batt, or amm and alt. Of course splice the batt wire ( starter motor ) and the starter relay wire ( coming from the rest of system ) together on same terminal The rest of time will work as a bridge between batt and alt. The Main wire is used JUST on crankin moment. The main wire to starter motor will finish the circuit to the batt. The National Electrical Code (NEC) specifies that a ground wire of at least 8-gauge should be used for a 100-amp sub panel. You can run it: alt-amm-starter relay-starter motor When installing a 100-amp sub panel, the size of the ground wire is a crucial factor to consider. Ond this system the starter motor gets the soruce on a dif parallel main batt wire where the battery terminal end gets spliced the main wire and the car system wire ( runing to the starter relay as a splice too ) Originally, the charging wiring runs: alt-amm-starter relay-batt. use the same battery cable to the charge system Hard to believe your car will demand 100 amps. a 100 amps alt doesn't mean will out out full 100 amps, just it has the capacity. One way around the problem would be to install an ignition (run) operated relay with the contacts in series with the solenoid coil.īUT YOU STILL NEED a second heavy ga. But for a street/ strip car, this is not that great. I'll agree that if this is "race only" and you are RELIGIOUS about pulling the disconnect, then OK. I'd guess in two or three days of sitting, the battery will be dead Second, the relay is on anytime the disconnect is on-causing a battery drain. No, I'm tellin you that circuit is wrong for two reasons:įirst, it still shows a second wire going back to the battery, and it will have to be a heavy wire Maybe this won’t work with production wiring. My Cuda chassis car was wired that way for years and when you turned off the kill switch everything shut down. The following are the maximum lengths of cable you can use while still maintaining a 3 percent voltage drop for the given wire size (AWG) and circuit voltage. When the disconnect is on woulnt you want the relay to come on and let the alt do it's job? When the disconnect is turned off it shuts off the relay and the power to the alt. This is a good goal to shoot for when sizing the conductors for an underground cable. As stated before make sure you get a constant duty ford syle relay. (The reason you need either a relay or large wire for this to the rear, is this IS your battery voltage sensing lead, and now it's a "lot longer" than it used to be) Hook the two no10s, one to each end of this break, and you're done. In this case, hook the no 10s coming back to the small posts, and up front, once again, break the IGN RUN feed to the regulator. If you either turn off the key OR the disconnect, the alternator stops charging.Īnother way to do this would be to run two no 10's back to the disconnect (they may not need to be quite this big, but hey) and eliminate the relay. In other words, with key on and disconnect on, the relay closes and feeds the regulator. Hook the other wire coming up front to your relay coil, and ground the coil. The wire goes back to the disconnect and back up front. Starting at the point where you broke the ign feed to the regulator, hook one wire to the IGN side coming out of the bulkhead (ign run) Run two no 18's or 16's back with your cable to the trunk, hooked to the small posts on the solenoid. Break the ign feed lead to the regulator, and put the relay Normally Open (NO) contacts in series. You could, for example, put a general purpose relay up front near the regulator. With the alternator you chose, all you need to do is break the ignition feed to the alternator, and you can do that with a smaller relay, and by using a 4 post disconnectĪ 4 post disconnect has two large posts for the main battery feed, and two smaller ones. This is way off topic for r/IndianCountry but, briefly, I'd say you have the gist of it. “Importing” said culture likely brought economic benefits and protection from the Chinese military, as opposed to invasion, but beyond that, we should ask a historian… if they aren’t just posting about John Oliver or something…Īnyway, if you made it this far, thanks for reading my book haha However, “China” in the past held a suzerainty over surrounding kingdoms/nations such as those on the Korean Peninsula and “exported” its culture to them (and then on to Japan). I can’t really answer the exact when, how and why they share the writing system, nor do I know how coerced it was off the top of my head. Also, see the difference between this Han 汉/漢 and Korean Han 韩/韓. There are similarities because they all use the Chinese character system in one way, shape, or form: 汉字,한자、 漢字 (HanZi, HanJa, KanJi). South Korea’s real English title is Republic of Korea (write that on visa forms and they’ll like your application more), which is 대한민국 (DaeHanMinGuk) which looks something like 大韩民国/大韓民国 (DaHanMinGuo/DaiKanMinKoku). In Japanese, 中国人、韓国人、 and 日本人 (ChuuGokuJin, KanKokuJin, and NiHonJin).Ī couple things to note: these are simple names, like saying America instead of United States of America (or the middle part of Turtle Island, but I digress). In Korean, 정국인, 한국인, and 일분인 (JeongGukIn, HanGukIn, and ILBunIn). In Chinese (again, simplified, not traditional) it’s 中国人,韩国人,and 日本人 (ZhongGuoRen, HanGuoRen, and RiBenRen). Going in order from China (simplified), Korea, Japan, it’s中国人, 한국인、 and日本人 (ZhongGuoRen, HanGukIn, and NiHonJin). I know it wasn’t a question, but just because it was mentioned, I wrote all this out to talk about Chinese, Korean, and Japanese language… and now it’s long, and I don’t want to erase it, so… Maybe this will be useful for trivia night. TLDR: China, Korea, and Japan all use the same names for each other (with different pronunciation) because they share a writing system.
